OPIN-ION
Speak softly but carry a big stick, or so, said Teddy Roosevelt. Which some say means to negotiate fairly but have a big stick (military, economic, etc) ready if negotiations do not work.
In many ways, Donald Trump is the reincarnation of Teddy Roosevelt in spirit, he makes his opinions known, he puts America first in everything, and he believes that ‘we’ (American) has a predetermination/destiny to be leaders of the free world-through peace (tough negotiations) and big sticks (military/economic intervention).
It is the editors opinion (we all have one) that talks of buying Greenland and/or retaking control of the Panama canal should be handled by speaking ‘softly.’ There’s no need for a big stick here-they’re our friends and allies, the promise of peace of prosperity for all should be sufficient.
Many have said that Trump 45 was our greatest president ever, or perhaps since Teddy Roosevelt or Ronald Reagan. But certainly better, by far, than the last few who have occupied the White House who got us in many seemingly endless and stupid wars, wasting billions of dollars and thousands of lives.
But unlike Democrats, who seem to ‘love’ every war they get this nation into, Trump wants peace, he doesn’t not want war as the first recourse. Trump wants peace for ‘everyone,’ and economic prosperity for everyone, after all, peace is good for business and Trump IS a businessman, the ‘Don’ of America.
Putin and Xi on the other hand, both need a BIG STICK, and Trump 47 needs to fix our sticks-they are looking worn out and old. Get us out of all interventions, then the military can concentrate on rebuilding the stick.
Respectfully
The Editors
